Privacy Policy

Padgett & Padgett, PLLC
Effective date: October 1, 2026

This policy explains, in plain English, what information we collect through our websites, how we use it, and the choices you have. "We," "us," and "our" mean Padgett & Padgett, PLLC, the CPA firm of Steve Padgett, CPA, in Mount Vernon, Washington.

What this policy covers

This policy applies to:

  • ContractorsWealthBlueprint.com, the website for Steve's book, including the domains contractorwealthblueprint.com and contractorstaxflow.com, which redirect to it; and
  • The "Tax Flow for Contractors" webinar sign-up page, hosted on our firm's FirmFlow web app.

It covers only information collected through these sites, our webinars, and our related marketing emails. It does not cover client tax information (see "Client information is separate" below). Our sites are intended for visitors in the United States.

Information we collect

When you sign up for the toolkit, we collect your first name and email address, and we keep a record of the consent wording you agreed to when you signed up.

When you register for the webinar, we collect your first name, last name, and email address. You can also choose to give us your business name, trade, annual revenue range, business entity type, and your biggest tax or cash-flow question. If you arrived from one of our ads or emails, we also record the campaign tags in the link (such as "facebook" or "email"). The sign-up form tells you that when you register, you'll receive webinar emails and occasional emails from Steve Padgett, CPA, about tax planning for contractors, and that you can unsubscribe at any time.

We don't collect phone numbers through either site.

When you attend the webinar, we receive information from Zoom about your attendance, such as whether you attended, when you joined and left, and how long you stayed. Webinars are recorded. See "Webinar recordings" below.

When you visit any of our sites, our web server keeps basic logs, including your IP address. We use these logs for security and to limit abusive or excessive traffic. Our sites also use Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel, which collect information about your visit (see "Cookies, analytics, and advertising" below).

Please don't send us sensitive information such as Social Security numbers, tax returns, bank details, or health information through our sign-up forms, the webinar chat or Q&A, or by replying to our marketing emails. We don't need it for these services.

How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • deliver the toolkit you requested;
  • register you for the webinar and run the session;
  • send webinar confirmation, reminder, and follow-up emails;
  • send occasional emails from Steve about tax planning for contractors, which you can unsubscribe from at any time;
  • understand how people use our sites and measure and improve our ads; and
  • keep our sites secure, prevent abuse, and comply with the law.

We contact people who sign up through these sites by email only. We don't make or record marketing phone calls. We do not send SMS or text messages.

Both sign-up forms save your details as a lead in FirmFlow, our firm's own web app. Leads are kept in a separate lead list, not in our client tax records.

Unsubscribing from emails

Every marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe link and our postal address. Unsubscribing takes effect right away, either through the link or through the "Unsubscribe" button your email app may show. When you unsubscribe, we keep a scrambled (hashed) record of your address so we don't email it again. You can also email steve@padgettcpa.com and ask to be removed.

Unsubscribing stops all webinar emails from us, including reminders for a session you've already registered for. It doesn't cancel your Zoom registration itself; to cancel that, email us.

Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information for money, and we never sell or rent our email list or your contact details to anyone.

We share your contact details only with the service providers that run the services described above, and only for that work:

  • Zoom, which receives your first name, last name, and email address to register you for the webinar, sends your confirmation and join link, hosts the session, and stores the recording;
  • Google (Google Workspace and Gmail), which we use to send our emails and run our business email;
  • Replit, which hosts our websites and web app; and
  • Our database host, which stores the database for our FirmFlow web app.

We don't use other tools that receive your sign-up details. Our sites don't use Google Tag Manager, Google reCAPTCHA (we use a hidden spam-trap field instead), automation tools such as Zapier, or embedded videos or other content from third-party sites.

Analytics and advertising partners. Our sites also use Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel (Meta runs Facebook and Instagram). These tools let Google and Meta collect information about your visit directly from your browser, as described in "Cookies, analytics, and advertising." We do not send them your name, email address, or form answers. Some state privacy laws define "selling" or "sharing" personal information broadly enough to include letting advertising companies collect this kind of information through cookies and pixels. You can opt out as described in "Your choices" under "Cookies, analytics, and advertising."

Other disclosures. We may also disclose information if the law or legal process requires it; to protect the rights, safety, or security of our firm, our clients, or others; or to a buyer or successor if our firm or practice is sold or merged, in which case this policy will continue to apply to the information.

Zoom, Google, and Meta also have their own privacy policies.

Cookies, analytics, and advertising

Where needed for a page to work properly, we use a session cookie, which helps the site remember you between pages during a single visit. After you sign up for the toolkit, we also use a cookie to remember your download link, so the thank-you page address doesn't contain any personal information.

Our sites also use two outside tools:

  • Google Analytics, which helps us understand how many people visit our sites and how they use them. Google acts as our analytics service provider. We do not use Google Analytics for advertising: it isn't linked to Google Ads, we don't use it to build ad audiences, and Google signals is turned off. We have turned off Google Analytics data sharing with other Google products and services, so we don't share this data with Google for its own products. We have also turned off its automatic tracking of form interactions. Google's support staff may access our Analytics account if we need technical help. Google Analytics keeps this information for 14 months (see "How long we keep information"). To learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services, visit https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
  • The Meta Pixel, which we use only to measure and optimize how our ads on Facebook and Instagram perform (for example, counting how many sign-ups come from our ads). It records page views and the fact that someone completed a sign-up, without sending what you typed in the form. We have turned off Meta's "automatic advanced matching," so the Pixel doesn't collect your name, email address, or other form details. Meta may use this information, together with other information it has, to provide measurement services and to target and deliver ads. For our part, we don't use the Pixel to build audiences of our site visitors or to target our ads to people because they visited our sites. We don't upload customer lists or email lists to Meta, and we don't build ad audiences based on health topics. You can limit what the Pixel collects through the opt-out choices below.

These tools use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies and send information to Google and Meta, such as the pages you visit, the page that sent you to us, your device and browser type, your IP address, and cookie or device identifiers. This means Google and Meta may collect information about your online activities over time and across different websites, including ours. If you're logged in to Facebook or Instagram, Meta may be able to connect your visit to your account. Google and Meta process this information under their own privacy policies. We do not send your name, email address, or form answers to Google or Meta, and we don't put form answers in page addresses.

These tools run only on our public marketing pages. They never load on FirmFlow pages that clients log in to or use.

Your choices. You can limit or turn off these tools in several ways:

  • use your browser's settings to block or delete cookies, or browse in a private window;
  • install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout;
  • manage how Facebook and Instagram use your information for ads at https://www.facebook.com/adpreferences;
  • opt out of interest-based ads from participating companies through the Digital Advertising Alliance at https://optout.aboutads.info/; and
  • turn on Global Privacy Control (GPC) in your browser. If your browser sends a GPC signal, our sites will not load the Meta Pixel for that browser, and we treat the signal as a request to opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of your information for advertising. Learn more at https://globalprivacycontrol.org.

Do Not Track. Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" setting. There is no common standard for responding to it, so our sites do not respond to Do Not Track signals. We do honor Global Privacy Control, as described above.

Blocking cookies may affect how some pages work.

Webinar recordings

Our webinars are recorded using Zoom's cloud recording. Recording starts automatically when the session starts, so our opening announcement is captured in the recording. We also say the session is recorded on the registration page and in the confirmation email.

At the start of each session, we say:

"Welcome. This session is being recorded, including the presenters, the screen, and the chat and Q&A. If you'd rather not be recorded, keep your camera and mic off, use initials as your name, and email questions to steve@padgettcpa.com. Please don't share personal tax, financial, or health details. This is general education, not advice for your situation, and attending doesn't make you a client."

The recording includes the presenters' audio, video, and shared screens. If you speak or turn on your camera, your name, voice, and video will be recorded too. The chat and Q&A, including the display name you use, are saved with the recording.

If you'd rather not appear in the recording, keep your camera and microphone off, use only your first name or initials as your display name, and don't post in the chat or Q&A. You can send questions instead to steve@padgettcpa.com. Please don't share personal tax, financial, or health details in the session.

We use recordings for internal review only. We don't post them publicly or offer a replay.

Our sites link to other websites, such as Amazon (where you can buy the book) and Skool (an online community platform). Our book links are ordinary links that take you to Amazon's site. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for how they handle your information. Please review their policies before giving them any personal information.

Children's privacy

Our sites and webinars are intended for adults who own or run businesses. They are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Client information is separate

Reading our websites or Steve's book, signing up for the toolkit, attending the webinar, or emailing us does not make you a client of Padgett & Padgett, PLLC and does not create a CPA-client relationship. A CPA-client relationship begins only when you and our firm both sign an engagement letter.

The content on our sites, in Steve's book, in the toolkit, in our emails, and in our webinars (including answers to questions asked during a webinar) is general educational information. It is not tax, accounting, or legal advice for your specific situation, and it may not reflect later changes in the law. Please talk with a qualified professional about your situation before acting on it.

If you become a client, your tax and financial information is handled under your engagement letter, the confidentiality rules that apply to CPAs, and federal tax law, including section 7216 of the Internal Revenue Code. We never use or disclose information from clients' tax returns for marketing. Existing clients receive our marketing emails only if they sign up for them themselves. We never send client tax information to Meta, Google Analytics, or any other advertising or analytics service. This policy covers only website and marketing information.

How long we keep information

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy:

  • Toolkit and webinar sign-up details and Zoom attendance information: until you unsubscribe, or until 3 years have passed with no activity from you (such as signing up, attending a webinar, or contacting us), whichever comes first. Then we delete it.
  • Unsubscribe (suppression) list: we keep a scrambled (hashed) record of your address for as long as we send marketing emails, so we don't email it again.
  • Webinar recordings, including chat and Q&A: 12 months after the session. Then we delete them.
  • Web server logs: 90 days, unless we need them longer to investigate a security issue.
  • Google Analytics data: 14 months. If you visit our sites again, the 14-month period starts over from your latest visit. Google and Meta keep information they collect under their own policies.

We may keep information longer if the law requires it or to resolve a dispute.

How we protect information

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the information we collect. No website, app, or email system is completely secure, so please don't send sensitive information through our sign-up forms or by regular email.

Your choices: access, correction, and deletion

You can ask us to:

  • tell you what personal information we hold about you;
  • correct information that is wrong;
  • delete your information; or
  • stop using your information for advertising-related tracking on our sites, to the extent we can control it (see "Cookies, analytics, and advertising" for browser-based choices).

To make a request, email steve@padgettcpa.com with the subject "Privacy request" and tell us what you'd like us to do. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on the request. We aim to respond within 30 days. If you ask us to delete your information, we may keep a scrambled (hashed) record of your address so we don't email it again. We will not treat you differently for making a request. If you disagree with our response, reply and ask us to reconsider.

Depending on where you live, your state's privacy law may give you additional rights. We will honor those rights where the law applies to us.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version on this page and change the effective date at the top. If we make a material change to how we use personal information we have already collected, we will also post a notice on our sites and, where we have your email address, email you before the change takes effect.
